    Job Description: 

    The primary purpose of your job position as a Maintenance Technician I is to maintain the facility and equipment in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with established procedures and as directed by your supervisor to assure that a successful, viable, maintenance program is maintained at all times.

    1 FT position -  On-call 1 week  per month




    Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment. Respond to emergency housekeeping calls to clean spills, empty trash, or other duties as necessary. Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance service.

    Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures.

    Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include apartment turnovers, plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.

    Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance service.

    Maintain general plant and facility in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment.Report all incidents/accidents, no matter how minor, to your supervisor immediately.

    Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your supervisor as soon as possible.

    Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., to your supervisor immediately.

    Ensure needed maintenance supplies have been listed on the Supply order sheet with applicable model number, equipment number and vendor.

    Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift/area.

    Attend and participate in in‑service educational classes and on‑the‑job training programs.

    Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., as approved.

    Assure that work/assignments areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks, end of work day, etc.

    Keep your work area(s) free of hazardous conditions, i.e., grease/oil spills, excess supplies, equipment, etc., to assure that all established safety rules/regulations are followed at all times.

    Follow established policies and procedures concerning infection control when performing maintenance services in isolation rooms/areas.

    Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor or department director.

    Technician shall participate on on-call and trouble call rotation schedule; and other duties as assigned.




    Minimum of 1 year experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to work well with others. Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language. Minimum of 18 years of age.  Minimum of HS diploma or GED.
