This position will prepare quality, from-scratch food items on the menu daily per federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures, as directed by the Director of Culinary Services.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate with Director of Culinary Services, line cooks, and waitstaff to ensure the serving line's proper flow and execution.
  • Follow regulations for safe handling of food and service items. 
  • Prepares foods according to prescribed sanitation standards, standardized recipes, using standard portion sizes.
  • Properly maintain food inventories, rotating stock, and storing food items at appropriate temperatures.
  • Ability to use equipment and materials carefully and safely, following correct operation and cleaning procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience cooking in a restaurant or vocation/technical education in food production.
  • Preferable to have a food production course, including sanitation and safety.
  • Vocational or technical education is desirable.
  • Must understand, speak, read and write English.
  • Must be able to hear and interpret various noises/sounds, including background noises/sounds.
  • Have at least two years in institutional cooking or commercial restaurant experience required.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Team player.
