Overview

We are looking for a professional and responsible Security Officer to patrol and monitor the property and act as a deterrent to crime and oversee resident safety.

As a Security Officer you will respond to all resident’s emergency calls and observe and report any unusual activities that take place throughout the property. You will enforce the policies and rules set forth by Christian Care and protect the rights of all residents within the framework of Federal, State and Local laws. 

Additionally, this is a hybrid role which involves both security and maintenance. It offers a great opportunity to the experienced Security Officer who enjoys manual tasks. The maintenance ‘arm’ of your role will require you to assist with general on-site repairs such as painting, moving furniture, and unblocking drains as directed by your manager while working as an enthusiastic team player to complete tasks and meet needs as they become apparent.

Responsibilities

Answer the phones at the front lobby desk, transfer phone calls to the appropriate department/staff member.  Interact with customers in a professional, courteous, and quick manner.
 • Assist customers in placing maintenance work orders.

  • Monitor Emergency Calls, security cameras and building alarms throughout the campus.
     • Assist customers in reaching the appropriate staff person to assist them with their questions.
     • Act as a point of contact between campus departments and customers as required.
     • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Resident Services or the Executive Director.
  • Patrol Fellowship Square property and facility as deterrent to crime and criminal activity and remain visible throughout shift.
  • Respond to all Lifeline Emergency calls immediately and proceed with appropriate action according to procedures set forth.
  • Observe and report in detail any unusual activity, situations or people encountered. Maintain safe distance from potentially dangerous situations.
  • Request assistance before making contact with suspicious person or attempting to resolve potentially dangerous situations.
  • Resolve all situations in the best interests of Fellowship Square, its residents, and employees.
  • Log a report of activities while on duty and submit at the end of each shift.
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
  • Maintain good relations with residents, employees, and visitors in the Fellowship Square Community.
  • Investigate incidents of theft, vandalism, arson, etc. and supply a written report of its findings to the Department Director.
  • Enforce posted restrictions such as “No Trespassing”, “No Parking”, “No Soliciting”, etc., when situation is not potentially dangerous.
  • When police or fire department are summoned, meet the vehicles as they arrive and direct emergency personnel to the area where they are needed, when possible.
  • Cooperate with emergency personnel and remain present id necessary to give information. Document incident on an incident report form. If a resident is taken to emergency care, check that the apartment is locked and all electrical appliances are turned off.
  • Lock and unlock common areas at the appointed time each night.
  • Escort residents as required during the night.
  • Respond to resident lock out calls to allow identified residents access.
  • Respond to after hour’s maintenance emergency calls: determine the need and call maintenance on call staff.
  • Take action as much as possible to protect the residents’ rights to privacy, confidentiality and security. Report any potentially hazardous situations or conditions and make recommendations to remedy the problem to Department Director.
  • Should some type of disaster occur, such as fire or storm damage, security personnel will be prepared to protect Fellowship Square property from looters and maintain order on property. Work with police and carry out assignments required by emergency personnel, or Department Director.
  • Carry out any special assignments and duties as requested by the Director of Resident Services or Executive Director.

Qualifications

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     1. One year experience in a customer service, concierge desk environment.

     

    1. General knowledge of housing, hospitality, and health care services available to Seniors.

     

    1. One year experience in computer software programs including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and Windows.

     

    1. Requires the ability to speak, read, and write the English language in a clear and understandable manner.
