Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Benefits and Compliance to shape our benefits strategy, oversee our comprehensive benefits programs, and ensure full adherence to local, state, and federal regulations. In this pivotal role, you will deliver competitive, cost-effective benefits that align with our company’s mission and drive employee satisfaction. If you are a strategic leader with deep expertise in employee benefits and regulatory compliance, we would love to hear from you. This position reports directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Design, implement, and continuously enhance our employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and more.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all benefits practices comply with federal, state, and local laws (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA), staying ahead of evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Vendor & Budget Management: Build and maintain robust vendor relationships and manage the benefits department budget to maximize cost efficiencies.
  • Team Leadership: Guide a dedicated team of Benefits Specialists and Compliance Officers through recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Employee Engagement: Lead the annual open enrollment process and develop clear, compliant communications and training programs to empower employees with their benefits options.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by the CHRO to support departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or relevant certifications such as CEBS, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are preferred).
  • 8-10 years of experience in benefits management and compliance, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits programs and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven experience in managing vendor relationships, benefits data analytics, and complex benefits budgets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and benefits administration software, with a preference for ADP.
